Alfa Giulietta is The Safest Hatchback Ever
Alfa Romeo Giulietta exceeded the VW Golf at points in the ranking of safest compact in history. Independent organism EuroNCAP presented today the latest results of safety testing sessions under the new criteria. As usual, the EuroNCAP officials have measured the adult safety, child safety, pedestrian safety, the safety equipment to prevent accidents and rear impact safety. Alfa Romeo Giulietta became safest hatchback ever tested by the European organism and the BMW 5 Series is the first model to obtain the maximum rating for the electronic support systems.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta, the newest model model from Alfa Romeo, received five stars in EuroNCAP overall rating. Adult occupants safety was rated at 97% and child safety was rated at 85%. The pedestrians are somewhat “less” safe, Giulietta having a rating of 63% for pedestrian safety – the problem areas are the windscreen and the engine hood edges with marginal protection for pedestrians. The level of safety support systems were rated at 86% for the standard ESP and the systems that warns you if you’re not wearing your seatbelt. Giulietta is the safest compact tested by EuroNCAP under the new criteria. Fiat said that this car will also get 5 stars in 2012 when the NCAP tests will be harsher.
