Engine

Alfa-156-Engine.jpgAlfa 156 represents the ideal blend of performance, fuel consumption, reliability and environmental compatibility.

The 2.0 JTS engine, with its revolutionary direct petrol injection, is the latest in engineering technology. Direct petrol injection allows the 156 JTS to deliver ample power and torque throughout its operation without ever compromising fuel economy.

There are many innovative features: the cylinder heads with Bosch injectors mounted in the chamber, the pistons, the camshafts and the exhaust system. As well as the high performance variable intake manifold, the high pressure fuel Common Rail, the higher compression ratio, pistons and the cascade exhaust system, composed of two main catalytic converters built into the manifold.

This 2.0 JTS engine produces 121 kW of power at 6,400 rpm, with 206 Nm of torque available at 3,250 rpm. 0-100 Km is achieved in 8.2 seconds.

Gearbox

With steering wheel mounted paddle controls, the Selespeed sequential transmission allows you to change gears without taking your hands off the wheel.

A special joystick on the central tunnel can also be used to control the Selespeed gearbox at any time. Selespeed also offers the convenience of 'City' mode, where the transmission will change gears for you - perfect for driving around town.
