Alfa 147 GTA

Control & Safety

147_GTA_Control.jpgThe Alfa 147 GTA suspension layout is a combination of high double wishbones at the front and an advanced MacPherson Strut arrangement at the rear. This engineering option has been specially tailored to ensure outstanding handling control and a firm, yet compliant ride.

In addition to a braking system consisting of 305 mm ventilated front discs and 276 mm rear discs, the Alfa 147 GTA also comes with state-of-the-art electronic devices for controlling the car's dynamic performance, including its braking and traction.

The Alfa 147 GTA is equipped with the most sophisticated active and passive safety systems available. ABS with EBD distributes brake force over front and rear wheels; ASR limits wheel slip during acceleration; new cutting-edge VDC for stability control on corners and MSR to modulate brake torque while changing down through the gears.

There are six airbags as standard: driver and passenger bags, two side bags and two window bags. In addition, the passenger cabin has been designed as a survival cell, and is protected by anti-penetration bars and controlled deformation zones to absorb impacts.
